Warehouse Rack Care and Maintenance
Warehouse racks carry load long-term; good care and maintenance extends their life and keeps them safe. Maintenance is not complex - the key is regular inspection and prompt handling.
Routine inspection. Periodically check that uprights are vertical, beams are not deformed and clips are not loose, and that the powder coating has no chips exposing bare metal. Minor deformation or looseness should be dealt with promptly before it grows.
Cleaning and rust prevention. Keep racks and floors clean, promptly clearing dust and oil; touch up chipped coating where metal shows to prevent rust. In damp environments, ventilate and keep moisture down to lower corrosion risk.
Proper use. Load to design capacity and stack evenly; avoid overloading and forklift impact. Use protection accessories such as column protectors and re-check parts regularly. Good care keeps racks safe for long-term use.
