Installation Tips for Heavy-duty Storage Racks
Heavy-duty storage rack belongs to the beam-type rack family, also called location rack, and is widely used in all kinds of warehouses and plants. It is mainly assembled from uprights, beams and shelf panels. On site, accessories such as foot protectors, collision guards, upper ties, connecting bars, cross beams, divider panels and mesh decks can be added as needed to meet different goods layouts. Installation quality directly affects the stability and safety of the rack after it is put into use. Here are the main points to note during installation.
Delivery inspection and site preparation. When goods arrive, inspect them before assembly: check that all parts are complete and specs are correct. Workers confirm the assembly area against the layout drawing, prepare tools, and clear the installation zone of clutter.
Installation sequence. Follow the sequence: start with uprights, then beams, then shelf panels. Once one starter bay is up, install the add-on bays immediately beside it. A set of heavy-duty racks usually needs 2 to 4 installers working together.
Fixing tall racks. When the overall rack height is large, pay special attention to construction safety. Racks over 4 m high should be fixed to the floor with expansion anchors at the base feet. Racks installed side by side should be joined into one body with connecting bars. In large warehouses over 6 m high, upper ties or cross beams should also connect the whole row into one body to ensure stability.
Inspection and finishing. After all racks are installed, check overall stability; delivery for use passes after the responsible person's acceptance. Then check for any safety hazards and clean the installation area. For professional installation services, please contact Tongnuo Racks.
