Daily Tips for Heavy-duty Warehouse Racks
After heavy-duty warehouse racks are installed, correct daily operation directly affects rack safety and service life. Based on on-site operations, here are the key points to note when using heavy-duty warehouse racks.
Keep the center of gravity low. When storing goods, follow the rule: light goods up high, heavy goods down low. This lowers the rack's center of gravity and reduces overall sway and tipping risk.
Avoid overloading, excessive height and excessive width. The weight of goods on each level must not exceed that level's designed load. Level height and width have design limits; pallet and goods dimensions should be slightly smaller than the rack's clear space, generally leaving about 100 mm of gap on each side to avoid jamming during access.
Impact prevention and personal safety. Drive forklifts gently and place or pick goods softly to reduce impacts on uprights and beams. When goods are stored on upper levels, operators should avoid walking directly under the racks. Use standard pallets; pallets with a three-runner base work well for rack picking operations.
Special requirements for high-level operations. When goods height exceeds 8 meters, suitable loading and unloading machinery must be configured and adequate working aisles reserved. Such systems take up more aisle space and offer relatively lower storage density, which should be weighed during planning.
Heavy-duty warehouse racks have adjustable level heights and, with forklifts and stacker cranes, enable quick pallet access. If you need load adjustment or rack expansion during use, please contact Tongnuo Racks for support.
