Structure and Components of Pallet Rack
Location rack, also called pallet rack, is a standard rack type widely used in storage systems. It consists of upright frames, beams and standard accessories. Using pallets as storage units and working with forklifts for loading and unloading, it makes full use of the vertical space of the warehouse, improves access efficiency and suits the concentrated storage of multi-variety, large-volume goods.
Upright frame structure. Two uprights are connected by horizontal and diagonal bracing with nylon self-locking bolts to form an upright frame, preventing rack instability after bolts loosen. Beam level height is adjustable in 75 mm steps. The uprights are punched and then cold-formed, giving a large section moment of inertia, strong load capacity and good impact resistance, which reduces the risk of cracks caused by stress concentration.
Beam structure. Each beam is made by welding end connectors onto a beam bar; the beam bar is formed from two special C-shaped steel sections clasped together — light in weight yet strong in load performance. Safety pins are fitted where beams plug into the uprights, so they do not easily slip off under impact and keep operations safe.
Features and uses. The level height of pallet racks is adjustable; working with various forklifts and stackers, pallets can be picked quickly. The load of each storage bay can be designed as needed within a wide range. Forklifts can freely access goods at any position without affecting nearby pallets. It suits palletized storage in manufacturing and logistics distribution centers.
Pallet racks are available in a full range of sizes and can be customized to warehouse dimensions, pallet specs and forklift types. For selection or solution design, please contact Tongnuo Racks.
