Heavy-duty Rack Structure & Safe Use
Heavy-duty rack is a common rack form in warehouses, usually called beam rack or location rack. It belongs to the pallet rack category and is widely used across storage systems in China. It stores a variety of goods, works with pallets and various accessories, and handles the storage and retrieval needs of a wide range of materials. Each level generally carries about 1 to 3 tons; it can hold pallets and can also be fitted with shelves.
Structure and advantages. Uprights use a prefabricated structure; steel clips are inserted between beams and uprights and locked, which prevents beams from slipping off by accident. Adjustment holes are set every 75 mm along the uprights, so level spacing can be flexibly adjusted to cargo height. The rack is an assembled structure, easy to install, disassemble and freely combine, suited to small-batch, multi-variety storage.
Storage and retrieval operations. Heavy-duty racks are normally used with counterbalance forklifts, reach trucks, stackers and similar equipment. The upright frames resist deformation well and stay stable over long service. Although storage density is relatively moderate, load performance is strong, and the racks are widely used in manufacturing plants, third-party logistics distribution centers and similar sites.
Safe-use notes. Operate the forklift gently and avoid hitting the rack; when goods are placed on the uppermost level, keep personnel out of the rack base area as much as possible. Pallet and cargo dimensions should be slightly smaller than the rack level width, leaving a safety clearance of about 100 mm. Rack height and width are limited, so usage must stay within the design range.
Heavy-duty racks let goods be stored three-dimensionally, making warehouse management clearer; used together with forklifts and step ladders, storage management becomes simpler.
